
Dwi Setiawan graduated from the English Literature Program at Petra Christian University, Indonesia, in 2002. Upon graduation, he was awarded a UBCHEA scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree in English Language Teaching (MA-ELT) at Assumption University of Thailand, earning his degree in 2004. In late 2005, he received an ADB scholarship to enhance his professional expertise at the Australian College of English (now Navitas English), Australia. Dwi completed his doctoral studies in 2017, specializing in the adaptation of literature to film, at De Montfort University, UK, through a DIKTI scholarship.
As a faculty member, Dwi teaches various courses, including Basic Paradigm of Cultural Studies, Film Analysis, and Writing. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he served as Secretary of the English Literature Department from 2006 to 2009 and was appointed Head of the Department in late 2009, a role he held until 2013.
An accomplished scholar and practitioner, Dwi has authored and translated several literary and academic works. His research interests include postcolonial literary adaptations to film, Marxism and literature, and the global functions of the English language.
Currently, Dwi serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Creative Industries, which oversees the English Department.
